Sneak Peaks and other news.

Well I'm excited...

Unfortunately, I'm not sure when I'm actually going to get ahold of it.  It is being dropped off at a family members house - they were kind enough to take care of the transaction for me given the fact that the location was inconvenient this weekend.

Of course, with this will come the inevitable reorganization of my board.  My Fulldrive 2 may get dropped in favour of this and my Noah Sark Tube Screamer clone.

There's probably something clever to be said about two clones being better than one or something, but I can't think of it (or I just did, and it isn't at all funny).

Crazy Trade Offer

I've recently posted a listing containing a few excess pedals, the Marshall DSL1C, and my Squier Jaguar, noting in the description that I'm open to 2 for 1, 1 for 2, some for many deals, etc.

Well, I woke up to an interesting offer this morning...

"Any interest in a Marshall Silver Jubilee 2554? I'm interested in the Jaguar and DSL1C"

Wait, what?  Maybe, but also yes?  I ask for and receive a link to a Kijiji listing, with this pic:

Oh, it's also listed as a 1987.  This isn't the reissue.  He's also listed it for sale at $2200. The value gap is not insignificant. I point this out and he wants to know how much cash I'm willing to add.

Great.

Best case, the two items on my side are worth $1000 - I'm being super generous here.  Assume he's willing to discount $200 for the trade, we're still looking at a $1,000 gap.  I'm not willing to close that out of pocket, and more importantly, while this piece is nice, I'm not sure I care enough about it to let go of the Jag...

I know, stupid sentiment.  I mean, I'd do it for no cash in addition, and won't do it for $1,000 in addition.  Is there a number greater than zero that I'd do?

I honestly don't know.  And that's a problem, because that was his question exactly, and he's still waiting for an answer...
