Time to scratch an itch?
It might be time to sell some stuff, because in the last two months I've wanted a PRS CE 24 in Champagne Gold, a Gretsch 5420T in Fairlane Blue (thanks bro...), and an LTD KH-2 in the new Purple Sparkle finish.
The last two are close in price, but couldn't be more wildly different, and if I'm honest the Gretsch would get more love. The PRS is the outlier, costing more than both of the others combined. I'm not sure I can justify that, especially given some of the questionable realities of the PRS.
In any case, it might be time to sell some stuff. The Fender Super Champ is the first major item to go (I've already sold the boss wah and my old Korg AX10), although I'm a little reticent given how great my brother's 5420T sounded with it in a little impromptu Easter country jam.
After that, the Jaguar is next, and I'm a little less dear about that. Sure it's cool, but next to a Gretsch?
No contest.
If those two moved, I'd cover the rest in a heartbeat.
But I'm still waiting...

PRS Custom 24 10 Top - $2400
The market on Custom 24s has been pretty clear recently - somewhere between $2K and $2.5K should land you one in excellent condition with its case.
Too bad this one is red. While I've come to terms with my Les Paul Studio being oh-so-nineties Wine Red, I can't stomach another translucent red guitar in the family, even a red as bright as this.
Give me blue. Yellow. Green. PURPLE. But not red.

Squier Fretless Jazz Bass - $200
Speaking of my brother, he has one of these, no doubt from a period of Jaco-inspired Jazz Bass odyssey seeking. what caught my eye with this one was the price. $200 for what is, by all accounts, a really decent fretless bass seems like a steal to me.
I kind of wish that I played bass, because this might be the best deal I've seen in quite awhile.

LTD M1000 - $800
No, it isn't purple, but this guitar is effectively the guitar that the KH-2 is based on. The neck, like all of the 1000 series, is bound with the most hideous material available...
Or the nicest depending on your take.
In any case, while the price seems fair, it isn't purple, the wrong part of it sparkles, and I won't apologize for thinking that the KH-2 inlays are super cool.
Fender Showmaster - $800
I wouldn't pay $800 for it, and while it came from a time that Fender was trying some modern-ish, Korean made takes on classic designs, I can't help but reply with a resounding "meh".
Looking at these now though, were these the "proto-Champman" guitars?
